$MICRO-SCHOLARSHIPS$ AND YOU

Advice from The Advisor: Yes. You Should Sign Up At Raiseme.com Because You are missing out on EASY $$$.

What is a

Micro-Scholarship?

A micro-scholarship is an amount of money that students are eligible to earn based on individual achievements throughout 9th-12th grade. They are awarded by colleges and universities who partner with RaiseMe, and each college or university creates their own program of micro-scholarship.

Colleges decide what achievements they want to award and how much they will award to students who meet their eligibility requirements (which can be found on their College page). For example, one college might offer $50 for an A in Algebra, another might offer $300, and so on.

Advice from The Advisor:

Basically once you complete your profile at RAISEME.COM, you get paid for doing everything your eAdvisor, Parent, Counselor, Friend and that Nerd you never liked for being so smart ever told you to do! That's right, its scholarship money guaranteed without having to complete THE DREADED ESSAY! Just update it regularly with all things you!

Does the scholarship money come from RaiseMe?

No - micro-scholarship dollars are awarded by the college partner. All eligibility requirements and deadlines must be met in order for the dollars to be awarded, and they are awarded in the financial aid package before the student's freshman year begins.

How many micro-scholarships are earned with each achievement?

Each college can choose which achievements to award money for, and how much. For example, if you get an A in an English class, one college might award $500, another could award $1,000, and another, $50 - all for the same grade.

Advice from The Advisor:

Scholarships at RAISEME.com are not all for academics or high GPA's. There is scholarship money for everyone. That's the great part about this opportunity. You can earn money for Perfect Attendance(up to $3000), Visiting a college or attending a college activity( up to $6,000), filling out the FAFSA at some schools up to ($4000), Play a sport or became president of a club (up to $1,500), Took the PSAT or SAT (up to $3,000).

Can I earn from colleges at the same time?

Yes, you can earn from multiple colleges at once by Following all the ones you're interested in. However, you'll only receive the scholarship funds from a school if you are accepted and attend that college.

What's the largest amount I can earn?

Colleges can set maximums on earnings for students via RaiseMe. It could be $8,000 at one college, and $80,000 at another college.

Advice from The Advisor:

I have scholars who currently have a total of $455k earned from all the colleges they have chosen to follow. Some big name schools have pledged to give up to $13,000 per year, while others are can be as low as $100 for students that have not completed their profiles. The more information you give, and the more schools you give a chance to follow, the more you see who is willing to reward you for your scholarly work upfront.

If I earn micro-scholarships, can I still earn additional financial aid from that college?

Of course! RaiseMe automatically submits your Portfolio to colleges you're Following on their earning deadlines, assuming your profile is complete.

The amount you earn on RaiseMe is the minimum amount that the college will award you if you enroll in their school. However, the college can always decide to award you more scholarships based on merit or need once they see your application for admission.

Advice from The Advisor:

Take advantage of this opportunity if you are a scholar going into 9th-12th grades. Get a copy of your transcript and complete your profile. Universities use RaiseMe as a way to learn more about their applicants. Check out the website. I love the ease and use of the site. There are over 200+ colleges and universities that are apart of this easy and wonderful organization. No, I do not get paid to promote them.

Remember my job is simply to give you the information, its up to you to take advantage.
